Faculty Profile

Biography

Since attaining a Master of Arts in Counseling from Spring Arbor in 2004, I have worked as a licensed professional counselor in Michigan, where I was born and raised. My specialties include evaluating and treating persons experiencing addictions and persons who perpetrate violence and sexual misconduct. I also have been trained in crisis management and trauma recovery. My clients have spanned all developmental stages and ages. Currently, I partner with Focus on the Family’s Hope Restored program and provide marital intensive therapy to fulfill my counseling calling. I began as an adjunct in the MAC department in 2018 and accepted a full-time position as the MAC Practicum and Internship Coordinator in 2023. In December of 2023, I completed my PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision, qualifying me for faculty rank. I continue to teach within MAC, coordinate with students, faculty, and site supervisors on fieldwork placement, and manage the database where the clinical records are kept. I have recently published work on both addictions and family counseling and often present on counseling couples and families. My husband and I have four children, ages 22, 18, 16, and 6.
