Biography

From a young age, Tracy understood what it meant to care deeply for others. Born and raised in the city of Detroit, she learned early on to see potential where others saw pain and to believe that healing is always possible. That early spark of compassion grew into a lifelong calling. Today, Tracy is a licensed Master Social Worker with over a decade of experience helping individuals and families navigate life’s most complex challenges.

Tracy’s journey of helping others began in ministry, where she supported youth and adults through faith, guidance, and compassion. That foundation led her into a career in child welfare, walking alongside families through moments of heartbreak and hope. Today, as a licensed clinical therapist, she is the CEO and founder of Vessels of Compassion Therapy Center, a thriving private practice devoted to trauma-informed care.

In addition to her clinical work, Tracy serves as a full-time faculty member at Spring Arbor University, where she teaches bachelors and masters level social work courses and mentors students completing field internships. Her practice also partners with the State Of Michigan, offering work readiness services to people with unique abilities, helping them to build confidence and prepare for employment.

Whether in the classroom or the therapy room, Tracy is known for her authenticity, empathy, and deep belief that healing begins where people feel seen and supported. At the core of everything she does is a simple truth: every person has the capacity to heal, to grow, and to thrive - sometimes they just need someone to remind them of their strength.

Education

Eastern Michigan University - BSW 2013

Spring Arbor University - MSW 2018

Why SAU

I was drawn to Spring Arbor University because I am an alum and earned my MSW here in 2018, and I had such a meaningful and supportive student experience. As a Christian, being part of a Christ-centered university is especially important to me, and I value the freedom to express my faith openly while teaching. I truly enjoy pouring into students, integrating professional social work education with purpose and values, and helping future practitioners grow both personally and professionally.
