Spring Arbor University (SAU) is excited to announce another partnership for the university’s new Deep Roots Direct Admission Program with East Jackson Community Schools. This initiative is designed to make the transition from high school to college more accessible to students, while strengthening educational ties within the community and encouraging students to grow in faith, learning, and purpose.

This program will enable East Jackson seniors who meet SAU’s admissions standards to be granted automatic acceptance to the university, streamlining the enrollment process and removing barriers. The Deep Roots Direct Admission Program also opens the door to personalized support, scholarship opportunities, and campus engagement designed to help students thrive from the moment they express interest in attending college.

We are always looking for ways to open new doors for our students’ futures, said Jeff Punches, superintendent of East Jackson Community Schools. Partnering with Spring Arbor University through the Deep Roots Direct Admission Program reflects our shared commitment to empowering students and supporting their future success. This partnership not only simplifies the college admissions process and provides financial assistance to our graduates, but also reinforces our belief that every student should have access to a supportive community and an affordable education right here in Jackson county.”

Dr. Brent Ellis, president of Spring Arbor University, said, “The Deep Roots Direct Admission Program reflects our dedication to helping students grow into who God created and called them to be. By partnering with more high schools like East Jackson, we’re creating a smoother path to a college education. We look forward to walking alongside these students as they pursue academic, personal, and spiritual growth.”

The partnership with East Jackson Community Schools marks another collaboration as SAU continues to expand the Deep Roots Direct Admission Program throughout the state of Michigan.
