Major
Code from an Ethical Perspective
Through your time in the computer science program at SAU you will have the unique opportunity to take classes early in your college career that aligns with the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) curriculum guidelines. Students learn how to apply the concepts they learn as they analyze and develop solutions in the laboratory setting. Small class sizes provide many opportunities for one-on-one interaction between faculty and students. Early in their programs, students have the opportunity to gain practical experience in the discipline by working as lab assistants and in other computer-related jobs on campus.
Key Courses
Students in the computer and information science major will apply major computing concepts as they analyze and develop solutions in the laboratory setting. Students will demonstrate understanding of major computer science concepts and programming languages through the perspective of theory, abstraction, design, and social context.
What our students say about the Computer and Information Science program
“I am grateful to learn from my professors who have extensive experience in this field. I have learned from Dr. Wegner and Dr. Wu's diverse perspectives who have used their knowledge to challenge me in my Computer Science major.”
