Social Studies

Major

Broaden Students' Perspective in a Christ-like Way

Discover how cultures and civilizations thousands of years ago have shaped our world today. Through the study of history, geography, economics, politics, and sociology, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of society today and the various solutions there are to societal issues. Rooted in a Christ-centered approach, our Social Studies program at SAU will equip you with the knowledge, critical thinking skills, and compassion needed to enact change for God’s kingdom.

The purpose of our Social Studies program is for you to gain a well-rounded outlook on life outside your one own area of study. You’ll learn from professors who have a deep commitment to justice and who care not just about expanding your worldview and perceptions of cultures, but also about your faith journey in that process. At SAU, you’ll be able to approach the study of human history and cultures with empathy, integrity, and with a faith-based perspective.
