Biography
I grew up not far from SAU in Saline, Michigan. After completing my bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Michigan, I lived in Dexter and worked as a Registered Nurse in a step-down unit, then an ICU at Allegiance Health. During that time, I married my husband, Brian. We soon moved to Baton Rouge, Louisiana for him to further his education. I spent the next couple of years traveling the country to educate ICU health care teams on the care of patients needing continuous renal replacement therapy, specifically using the Prismaflex machine for Gambro Renal Products. We moved back to Michigan (Jackson) once my husband finished his degree, and we started a family. I had the blessing of staying at home for several years while my kids were young. When they went to school, so did I. I received my MSN in Education from SAU while working as an adjunct instructor in the clinical laboratory. Once finished, I continued working in the lab and teaching medical-surgical nursing. We now have four kids: Macy, Paige and Scarlett (identical twins), and Gavin. I find myself quite busy as I navigate work, kids' activities, family life, and serving in my church and kids' schools. I serve on the worship team at JaxNaz and have a seat on the Board of Directors at Jackson Christian School (where my children attend).

Why SAU
I can think of many reasons why I love SAU: the community, the Christian perspective, my coworkers, my students, just to name a few. I believe that God has put me at SAU and that in His perfect timing and grace, He has given me the opportunity to impact the next generation of nurses. I am grateful to be part of the SAU team. Go Cougars!
