Biography
Hello! I've been a social worker since 2002. To me it’s about helping people improve their lives in whatever circumstance or stage of life they are in. It's a calling, not just a job. I have taught social work at SAU in the BSW/MSW programs since 2014, and enjoy being part of students' journeys in the social work programs. I say that the social work program can be a time of personal growth, as well as gaining knowledge, if you let it. My social work experience includes different settings and with a variety of populations. I continue to be blessed to teach remotely. In addition to teaching, I currently work with women, men and couples in a mental health setting. This allows me to bring real life situations we can encounter as social workers, to the classroom. I also supervise colleagues and interns for their social work experience and licensure. I am trained and experienced in different modalities including CBT/DBT, TFT, EMDR, ERP and have my PMH-C (Perinatal Mental Health - Certification). I am a big believer in personal growth and self-development and love collecting inspirational sayings. I enjoy getting together with my family and friends.

Why SAU
I agree with Spring Arbor's concepts of “Jesus Christ as the perspective for learning.” I completed research to measure how this concept is impacting our MSW students and just know that it does make a difference! I feel that my work is not just a job, but a calling. I am able to live that out and help others do so also. I am glad to see Christian universities, like SAU, step up to be a participant in higher education.
