Biography
I was born and raised in Mid-Michigan, I have a husband, three kids and a sweet goldendoodle.
I became a nurse in 2001 at a community college with my Associate Degree Nurse, got my Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing a few years later in 2004. As a registered nurse I worked in the hospital on cardiology unite. I decided I wanted to be a Nurse Practitioner (NP) and got my Master of Science in Nursing in 2009. I love being a NP! I still work clinically with Palliative Care and Hospice (inpatient, outpatient, home, facility, roadside).
I became an adjunct faculty with the MSN program in 2016 and took over as NP program director in 2017. It is wonderful to see NP students blossom into NPs. I love seeing students start to understand and apply the learning and become competent NPs.
I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a focus on Strategic Leadership in May of 2022 through Spring Arbor University. It was challenging and fulfilling. I recommend it to all of you! Growing our population of DNP prepared nurses will be incredibly impactful for not only our patients, but our profession.

Why SAU
I am blessed to work for Spring Arbor University where we can support our students academically and spiritually. I became a Christian at a young age but made my faith my own in high school. Through the challenges life can bring, I have been able to lean into my faith and grow as a Christian. I so appreciate SAU’s concept of teaching with “Christ as the perspective for learning”. We get to teach from this perspective. How wonderful!
