Spring Arbor University Announces Deep Roots Direct Admission Partnership with Jackson Public Schools

Spring Arbor University is pleased to announce a new partnership with Jackson Public Schools through the university’s Deep Roots Direct Admission Program. This collaboration expands access to higher education for Jackson High School students, creating a seamless path from high school to college and building stronger connections between local students and their hometown university.
The Deep Roots Direct Admission Program allows Jackson High School seniors who meet SAU’s admissions criteria to receive automatic acceptance to the university. In addition to simplifying the college application process, the program connects students with personalized guidance, financial aid opportunities, and early exposure to campus life designed to help them succeed.
“Our goal with the Deep Roots Direct Admission Program is to remove perceived barriers that stand between students and their future,” said Dr. Brent Ellis, president of Spring Arbor University. “We’re thrilled to partner with Jackson Public Schools to make the dream of college more accessible. Together, we can help students grow deep roots in faith and purpose while pursuing a meaningful education close to home.”
Jackson Public Schools Superintendent Jeremy Patterson said the partnership represents a shared investment in student success. “We want every Jackson Public Schools student to graduate knowing that higher education is within reach,” Patterson said. “This partnership with Spring Arbor University reinforces that belief by offering our graduates a clear, supportive path to college. We’re proud to collaborate with SAU to open new opportunities for our students.”
Jackson High School Principal Monica Pierce shared her enthusiasm for what the program means for her students. “So many of our students have the drive and ability to succeed in college but aren’t sure where to start,” Pierce said. “The Deep Roots Direct Admission Program gives them confidence and direction. It’s exciting to know that our partnership with SAU will help more students take that next step toward their future.”
Through initiatives like this, Spring Arbor University continues to strengthen relationships with local schools and empower students to thrive academically, personally, and spiritually.
