Spring Arbor University Celebrates Ignite Campaign at An Evening at the Arbor

On Thursday, April 23, 2026, Spring Arbor University (SAU) welcomed alumni and the local Jackson community to their 12th annual An Evening at the Arbor. This year’s event was dedicated to commemorating the Ignite Campaign for Spring Arbor University and raised over $40,000 for the Arbor Fund to support students financially. During the evening, guests learned more about the Ignite Campaign’s vital impact on the university and the greater Jackson area, while networked with SAU staff, faculty, students and community members.
Additionally, each year the Faith F. Small Community Faithfulness Award is given to a distinguished local business leader who serves and strengthens the local community. This year the award was presented to Phil Curtis, managing partner of Curtis, Curtis & Brelinski, P.C. Curtis’ involvement in the Jackson community runs deep and is felt by many, including Spring Arbor University.
Spring Arbor University Executive Vice President Dr. Doug Wilcoxson said, “Mr. Curtis has been a part of An Evening at the Arbor since it’s inception and it is a true honor to recognize the work he is doing in and for the Jackson community.”
“We are so grateful for the continued support our community shows for SAU and our students,” said Andrew Phelps, the Associate Director of Annual Giving. “An Evening at the Arbor is an incredible opportunity to recognize the achievements of our students, faculty, and alumni, while highlighting the deep connection between SAU and the greater Jackson community.”
Spring Arbor University is grateful for everyone who attended and made the evening a memorable success.
