Spring Arbor University Receives Gift from Munn Estate

In September, Spring Arbor University (SAU) launched Ignite: The Campaign for Spring Arbor University, the largest fundraising campaign in the university’s 152-year history. As part of the Campaign, SAU is excited to announce a $1.2 million gift from the Hal and Ella Munn Estate, which the university received in October 2024.
Hal and Ella had given generously each year to the Arbor Fund and Spring Arbor Radio, being the most faithful and impactful donors of the Arbor Fund. Through a well-planned estate gift, they ensured gifts to both causes would continue annually after their passing. A portion of their estate gift to Spring Arbor provided over $500,000 to the Arbor Fund endowment, which will grant over $25,000 to the Arbor Fund each year to fund scholarships for students and enhance students’ educational experience.
In addition to their gift to the Arbor Fund endowment, the Munn Estate also is designated over $500,000 to endow SAU Radio, which annually provides an over $25,000 boost to the operating costs of the station.
Guided by years of strategic planning, Ignite: The Campaign for Spring Arbor University is raising crucial funds for the modernization and expansion of the Whiteman Gibbs Science Center, building a stronger endowment, and providing support for students both now and in the future through the Arbor Fund.
