On Wednesday, Sep. 2, 2026, Bishop Samuel Kayinamura of the Free Methodist Church in Rwanda and President of the Free Methodist World Conference, offered a blessing over our student body at the conclusion of our Fall Convocation service.

As president of the FM World Conference, Kayinamura has presided over the global Free Methodist Church since being elected to the role in October 2023. The Free Methodist Church in Rwanda has grown to more than 500,000 members.

Bishop Kayinamura remarked, "How I ended up in these roles just goes to show what God can do with an ordinary person who wants to walk with God and follow His leading, because that is all I am." He grew up in a small village north of Kibogora, Rwanda. Since his youth, Kayinamura earned a Bachelor's degree in Theology and a Master's in Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies.
