Spring Arbor University has begun construction for various landscaping projects this summer that will continue into the fall and the coming year. This work is part of a larger effort to strengthen the heart of campus with a more beautiful, functional environment for students, faculty, staff, and guests.

One of the most notable differences will be in the areas of the Centennial Garden, lawn, and sidewalks by the McKenna Carillon Clocktower. Sidewalks are being replaced in a new configuration to connect the Centennial Garden with the clocktower sidewalks in the shape of an oval. Construction is currently underway on this project, with paint marking out the planned sidewalks. To help make this change possible, the old University Advancement building will be demolished. This project is also currently underway. 

To make room for construction staging for the continued modernization of the Whiteman Gibbs Science Center, multiple houses on Ogle Avenue (Taylor House, the Campus Safety House, and the Falling Waters house) have been removed and relocated to off-site locations. Construction for the addition to the Whiteman Gibbs Science will begin later this fall. In addition, the Prop Shop in the main student parking lot will be demolished.
