As college students, it can get easy to stay in our comfort zones on campus and stay on this routine: wake up, go to class, work, do homework, go to bed, repeat. Now and then, we need to get out of that routine and discover something new or do something fun that might be just down the road. Jackson and Spring Arbor might look a bit dull, but they both offer fun activities like getting some sweet treats, sightseeing, and doing something fun. These activities are a perfect way to take a break from campus and recharge.

Cascades Falls / Ice Cream

Cascades Falls is one of the main attractions in Jackson. The falls are man-made and light up at night. On holidays such as Labor Day, Memorial Day, and Fourth of July, they host firework shows and live entertainment for only $5-$7 a person! In the same park, they have a walk-up ice cream shop that serves such a great variety of ice cream! You are bound to find your favorite ice cream there.

City Crepes

Jackson Coffee Company

The cafe has an upstairs which is absolutely amazing for study/homework time. Now, they don’t just serve coffee, they serve teas, smoothies, etc. Go and check them out if you haven’t already!

Murals (Bright Walls)

Bright Walls in Jackson was a mural festival that originally began to beautify Jackson. They invited artists from all over the world to create murals on a bunch of different buildings downtown. That festival has since ended, but the murals are still there and in pristine condition. They are such great backgrounds for photos and are great to check out in any season.

Falling Waters Trail

Falling Waters Trail is a paved trail that runs from Concord through Spring Arbor, all the way to mid-Jackson. This trail is great for scenic walks, biking, roller skating, etc! There is so much nature surrounding you, and it is pretty peaceful. It’s a great way to get out into nature and exercise.

Each trail has something different that sets it apart from the other. On top of your regular hike, they also have some educational hikes and events for all ages. They also have a few gardens that you can check out while you are there!
