“The short answer is…God.”

Dean Reynold’s story at SAU, from the beginning, was a testament to God’s work in his life as seen in his answer when asked how he made it to and through his college experience. Though originally a Biology major, his switch to Theology was fuelled by the lasting impact of Professor Kenneth Brewer and the continual guidance of Dr. Jamin Bradley, Dr. Tom, and Dr. Cornell.

Dean is a runner on the track and cross country team - allowing him to advance his time management skills as well. With his experience with his team and coach, he believes he is walking away with a lot of good connections and friendships he’s not sure he would have ever gotten if he didn’t come to SAU. This is especially true with his coach who became a true friend and mentor.

His personal faith experience has been one of growth, especially while leading a couple of Bible studies with his team during his time here. He attributes his biggest developments in faith to his Theology studies. He defines Theology as “how relationships were originally meant to be”, impacting how he learnt to relate with people around him and to Jesus, meeting Him daily and intentionally.

A personal milestone Dean delights in is being able to learn more about the nature of God and how to walk with Him, especially through 1 Corinthians 13 (the qualities of God as love) and 1 John 2 (how to walk in that truth). However, he quotes his guiding verse as Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Dean gives an encouraging testimony of progress as a critical participant in the world that he doesn’t think he would have gotten to if you didn’t come to SAU. In addition to his Bachelor’s degree this spring, he is also expecting to graduate from his master’s in the Fall commencement.

Congratulations to Dean and many blessing on his journey!
